Tomorrow we are North Bound!! cant believe it but we are all packed up and ready to move to Eureka in the morning. I am extremely excited and cant wait to get training into full swing. We have tons of stuff to do once we are there to get everything up and running for the season, but I am excited and really motivated to set the camp up better then its ever been before. This is the earliest We have ever made up there, and know with the extra time we can make some great improvements to our operation. Kyla did a great job taking care of the dogs while I was in MN, and I know that they will all be really excited to get back to our winter home, and the way better training that is provides. WIth our departure comes the end of the Wild and Free Webcam for the season, but make sure to check back I plan on updating the blog once a week with some updates of what is going on, but with more of a focus on videos and pics this year so stay tuned. I can't believe it myself but I am in MN right now visiting my family. It was a total suprise to them and worth every penny. I made the last miute decision just 2 weeks ago after talking with my good buddy Joe who lives in Mineapolis. His sister and good friend of mine is getting married today so I decided to make the trip back to visit with the family and attend her wedding. After buying the ticket I realized that the MN Vikings have a meeting with the Packers on monday night so I got tickets to that game as well as the last game of the season for the MN Twins. IT will be alot of fun to see these games! the break is just what i needed after a crazy summer! It is totally crazy being here with nothing to do but the break will do me some good because as soon as I get back we will be moving to Eureka for the winter season. Luckly Kyla is back in Fairbanks taking care of the dogs and keeping them in training. I am glued to the webcam most of the day just watching and listening to the dogs. It is the first time I have been away for an extended perriod of time since I got the webcam all set up, and man it is awesome to be able to watch the dogs. Being here in the city really drives home the fact that I dont belong here, it has been great to visit with family anbd friends but I am already eager to get back home to my Four legged family!! The 2009-10 season is shaping up to be very exciting! I have already signed up for the Sheep Mountain 150, Gin Gin 200, Copper Basin 300 and of course the 1000 Mile Yukon Quest. On top of all of all the racing I will also be preparing for a huge trip that I will be guiding in the Brooks Range in March. Because of huge scale of the trip we will not only be training, the race team, the new pups but also 30 tour dogs that will be used for the Trip in March. I will be getting the dogs from my good friend David Monson. all of this is very exciting but also adds alot of responsibility this season. Because of this I am in the hunt for another handler for the winter season!! if your interested or know of anyone that would be interested in joining the team please contact me by email. I better get going I have to get all dressed up fo this wedding, which not something I am use to!! Thanks for stopping by.
Being as Wild and Free as I can be in MN
